Occupational Therapist – two days a week, term time only

Farney Close is a mixed independent residential special school for children aged 9 -18 who are in receipt of an ECHP because they experience a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. However, the school also supports pupils who experience Asperger or Tourette’s Syndrome, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, Moderate Speech and Language Difficulties, Communication and Language Difficulties, or difficulties with Sensory Regulation. Situated on the A272 and the A23 intersection at Bolney, West Sussex, the school has an established and very successful reputation, achieving numerous outstanding and good Ofsted inspection judgements for educational and care provisions over the last decade.

The school are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist at band 6-7, pro-rata to support the assessment of our young people and assist with their personal development. This will be a permanent position work as part of the friendly Education team, planning and implementing therapeutic strategies to support a wide range of communication, motor regulation and sensory needs. The Therapist will need to be flexible in their approach to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the students and have prior experience of working with SEMH pupils.

Youth Support Care Worker – full time, with irregular hours (no weekends)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, motivated youth support worker to work as part of a dedicated team with young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs. Some young people have significant learning difficulties. Experience is desirable but not essential, as the main skills that we require are empathy, energy and a friendly personality. You must be prepared to work shifts and sleep-ins within a school environment.

Starting salary £19,121 plus sleep-in enhancements, a completed shift allowance, a generous holiday entitlement (up to 13 weeks) and tax-free childcare scheme. All staff members have a professional development plan with training and supervision.

Catering Assistant

Full time – 34 hours, term time only

Farney Close School is an independent weekly boarding special school with charitable status for boys and girls aged 11 to 19 years, who are experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The school is set in a rural environment, so transport is essential.

7.30 to 3.00pm Monday to Thursday    -  08.00 to 2.30 pm Friday

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our friendly catering team. Must be willing to do all duties in the kitchen. Full training given.
