Link Worker

Each pupil has a designated Link Worker, who will be an RSCW that works on the house with them. Beyond supporting the pupil and helping them with their care plans and reviews, the aim of this person is to act as a point of reference and to keep lines of communication open between the school, parents and carers, and any other agencies that might be involved with the pupil. As much as possible the Link Worker make sure that parents/carers and other agencies are kept up to date with how the child is doing. At the same time, because communication is a two way process, Link Workers are also there to discuss any concerns that those closely involved with the child might have, and so we welcome phone calls from home so that we can all work together in the pupils best interest.

The Link Worker also attends reviews and meetings to help support the pupil through these times, and will represent their views for them should they find it difficult to do so themselves. They will also listen and support the pupil if there is anything upsetting or worrying them, giving them time to talk, reflect and move forward in the same way that all staff at the school would do.
